Virtual Lab Resources
Since our teaching delivery method has drastically changed this semester CTAT would like to assist those faculty members who may need online lab resources for your summer courses. If you do not see the information you need on a particular concept please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be glad to contact the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) to assist us in finding the online resources you need
Arthur Lakes Library
On this website you will find a growing list of free virtual labs and simulations covering Anatomy & Physiology, Astronomy, Biology, Biotech, Business & Finance, Cell Bio/Genetics, Chemistry, Civics, Comparative Neuroanatomy, Computer Science & Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Environmental Science, Epidemiology, Geology, Health & Aging, Math, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Physics, Physiology, Psychology, Public Health & Nursing, STEM
On the BC Campus web page you will find OER resources for virtual labs in Math, Physics, Environmental Science and Agriculture, Engineering, Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Astronomy. This Google Doc also provides links to Remote Labs such as LabLands, which is offering free accounts to universities affected by COVID-19. The North American Network of Science Labs Online (NANSLO) which is no longer operating, but used to offer remote labs that students could access via robotics. They also provide ideas about establishing remote labs NANSLO Project Summary f and provide 2 lab manuals and 28 lab activity plans at NANSLO Lab Activities. Lastly, Remotely Controlled Laboratories (RCLs).
On this site you will find links to a variety of simulations and virtual labs.
On this web page you will find OER resources for 192 different virtual labs in many different disciplines.
Go-Labs provides students with the possibility to conduct scientific experiments in an online environment. These virtual labs simulate the scientific equipment, provide preset data from already performed lab experiments, and labs can be combined with dedicated Apps to create Inquiry Learning Spaces (ILSs). Remember to use the filters on the right to choose “English” then the age range and topic.
On the PHET website you will find numerous simulations for your students to use in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Math.
The OpenSTEM Labs
The Open STEM Lab is comprised of a number of labs, each with a distinct identity, meeting modern students and national skills-based needs.
The OpenScience Laboratory
This online laboratory brings interactive practical science to students anywhere and anytime the internet is available.
The Bok Center from Harvard provides virtual lab exercises based on the focus of the labs.
